Two Aroostook County men were arrested by the state police and are now facing theft charges after a lengthy investigation involving potatoes in the St. John Valley.

According to the Bangor Daily News, Paul Gervais and Lloyd Voisine were both charged with Class B theft by unauthorized taking on Wednesday for stealing more than $45,000 worth of potatoes from the Cyr Potato Corporation over the past 4 and a half years. Gervais and Voisine then allegedly sold the potatoes to local residents and businesses, after which they would pocket the money. According to court records, the pair are due in court on November 2nd. Read the full story from the BDN here.
