Boston Shake

Maine is home to a ton of great ice cream shops, with a South Portland shop being spotlighted as one of the nation's best for soft serve.

I love secret stuff: staircases, speakeasies, handshakes and menu items as well. It was hot after school yesterday and the pull of Red's Dairy Freeze on Cottage Road in South Portland was strong. My daughter always gets a Grasshopper shake, but yesterday she surprised me with a request for an off-the-menu item. Something called the "Boston Shake".
