Concerts in New England are back! The schedule for this summer and fall is filling up quite nicely. We can't wait to get back to seeing shows with all of you. We've added two more shows for you-a reunited Genesis (Colins-Banks-Rutherford edition) and Pink Floyd's genius, Mr. Roger Waters.

Yahooo! Concerts (fingers crossed) are coming back! One of the biggest things we have missed is going to live shows and sharing an amazing live concert TOGETHER. One by one, shows are being annoucned and rescheduled from 2020. Here is what we have so far. From Fenway to New Hampshire, to Maine, it's going to be a busy summer.

We had a bunch of concert announcements this week in New England. You remember concerts...when we all get together and go crazy with our favorite musicians? Making incredible memories with friends and sometimes, complete strangers! Rescheduled shows and some new shows have been announced at the Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom, The Bank of NH Pavilion in Gilford, Rock Row in Westbrook, and Darling's Waterfront Pavilion in Bangor. And today the Boston Red Sox announces their Summer Concert Series. All of these Fenway dates are make-up dates from 2020. I hope you held on to your tickets! All the shows are tentative based on how the pandemic goes. But the fact that we may actually see LIVE MUSIC this summer warms my heart.

Happy 74th birthday to Reginald Dwight, better known as Sir Elton John. Elton has sold over 300 MILLION albums and has been awarded 5 Grammys. He is one of the world's biggest superstars, so we should find ourselves lucky that the Rocketman has visited Maine six different times over the years for live concerts. He's been good to us!

We are having a blast bringing you amazing concerts from the legendary Blimp archives. So far we've rocked the Stones, Led Zeppelin, and Def Leppard. This Saturday night we have a rarity for you. AEROSMITH. Live in Brussels, Belgium on Halloween Night of 1993.

Yup, WBLM will be bringing you a different concert every Saturday night. The best concerts from around the world, incredible live albums, and historic Maine concert moments all form the legendary Blimp archives. And guess what, you've got a front-row seat to every show! And this week we have a rare Led Zeppelin show from the Paris Theatre in London from 1971. EPIC ZEP!

No concerts this fall? No problem! Hot on the heels of our epic Blimpstock broadcast, WBLM is kicking off our Saturday Night Concert Series this weekend. And we are starting the tour off with a bang. 7 pm this Saturday it's a huge concert on the radio with The Rolling Stones!

Our thoughts and thanks go out to all the bands and venues out there who have been forced to cancel or reschedule and sometimes both and more than once! Take, for example, Lez Zeppelin. Four amazing women who do the coolest Zeppelin tribute show around. Lez Zep was supposed to play the now-closed Port City Music Hall on March 20th. That show got rescheduled to September 11th (remember back in March when we thought this would be all over by the Fall?). And now, the show has been rescheduled to July 17, 2021, at the wonderful State Theatre in Portland. From our friends at the State Theatre Facebook Page:

We know you were super busy on the 4th of July. So just in case you missed, it, we have the grand finale of a 24+ hour virtual concert that happened over the weekend. Dozens of Maine musicians, dancers, and comedians performed to an online audience of thousands to celebrate America’s birthday, with the inaugural SummerFestME: Ending Hunger at Home event raising $50,000 to benefit Full Plates Full Potential and Good Shepherd Food Bank.

This "no concert thing" has been slowly weakening my soul and spirit. Will we get back to live music in the Fall? Please don't say next summer as I don't know if I can wait that long. And to what lengths will we go to see a live show? In Germany, this past weekend, DORO, who is known as the "Queen of Heavy Metal" had a concert at a drive-in. And you know what? it looked pretty cool!

There's much more than just music in the WBLM A to Z archives. There is a whole plethora of amazing Maine rock and roll memorabilia. As we were digging through one of the largest collections of Classic Rock in the world doing A to Z, we came across these gems

It's time to get back to live music any way we can and the State Theatre in Portland is doing their part by presenting Conclave. Conclave is a series of concerts that will be held at a very empty State Theatre that will employ great sound and multi-camera visuals. This should be slick!

Sometimes when you go to a concert the opener and the headliner just don't make any sense being on the same bill together. Like Jimi Hendrix opening for the Monkees. Yup, that happened. We found this phone call montage from our "Best Of The Captain and Celeste" WBLM Morning Show Archives. These are listeners calling in telling us the weirdest concert lineups they ever saw.

We miss concerts so much right now. I don't think I've EVER gone this long without seeing some sort of live performance. And while it's tough for us fans, it's even tougher for the bands and all of the fine people that make their living putting on shows. We found this fantastic video on the State Theatre Facebook page. Lauren Wayne leads her squad with doing hundreds of shows every year at the State Theatre and Port City Music Hall. In this video, Lauren and her crew give us an idea of what it's like to be on the sidelines right now in the concert business. And how they even miss you pain in the butt people that can't find their mobile ticket. Hint...look on your phone.

I don't know about you but I am really missing concerts. The whole thing. Getting tickets for them. Looking forward to them. Discussing with friends what should and should not be on the setlist. The Pregame. The $8 beers. The time of my life! And this was going to be an epic summer. From Bangor to Boston. Now? Who knows. We are watching tons of virtual shows from Maine artists and they are awesome. But when do you think we will actually be inserting ourselves into the LEAST safe and sterile situation you can think of? And when we do, what will that be like?
