Wow! We found ZZ Top performing live on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson in 1986 just a couple weeks before the show here in Portland. The play Sharp Dressed Man and Tush backed by the legendary trumpeter Doc Severinsen and The Tonight Show band. Johnny and Doc put on long beards in their honor...this is freakin' cool!
The very first Maine headlining appearance from ZZ Top happened 44 years ago, two days before Dusty's 26th birthday in 1975. Listen to the whole historic show right here!
39 years ago this week, WBLM welcomed back ZZ Top to the Civic Center on April 6, 1980. It was 3 years after they were the very first event and very first rock concert in the new building.

That “lil’ ol’ band from Texas” was on the road in support of their album, Tejas featuring It’s Only Love and Arrested for Driving While Blind. Opening the show was Maine’s own, The Blend.
We remember some dancers from Mark's Showplace joined them onstage for Give It Up. A hot couple January nights in Blimpville was just the 'voodoo healin' we all needed.
The 'Right Reverend' Billy Gibbons guitarist, singer, and founding member of that 'Lil Ol' Band from Texas' is performing at Tupelo Music Hall in Derry, New Hampshire on Thursday October 25.
