This week is a rough one for some young couples, as college students return home for Thanksgiving and break-ups break-out! It's referred to as The Turkey Dump, and it's for real. This phenomenon occurs when college freshmen in long distance relationships come home at Thanksgiving and break up with their boyfriend or girlfriend. Long distance relationships require trust, communication and loyalty. But it's difficult to embrace the "full" college experience while chasing these ideals, so many freshman choose to reclaim their freedom at Thanksgiving, because let's face it-it's heartless to dump someone at Christmas.
