Could be that I'm a little obsessed with finding and destroying germs. Yes, I have Clorox Clean-Up Wipes and Wet Ones in my purse. It was a habit that I picked up 10 years ago when Sabelle was born and it stuck. I know that killing too many germs is bad for your immunity, I swear that I only use them in case of emergency, like a sticky spot on a table or any other unclean surface that I find around me or on my children. If you think I am over reacting, you are wrong!

Grab your antibacterial surface wipes and get to work on the following surfaces:

  • We went over this last week, but replace and store your toothbrush properly. I'm a mom, I repeat myself.
  • Salt and pepper shakers are notorious for being germy, at restaurants and at home. Don't crack an egg or touch raw meat then reach for the shakers to season them without washing your hands!
  • Throw pillows get nasty because we don't wash them, lots of germs for you to cuddle up to on the couch.
  • Dish towels. Change those frequently. I couldn't keep up with washing them, so I cracked one day and bought a million of them and now I am happy. Yes, it was just that easy. Dish towels.
  • Your kitchen faucet is worse than the one in your bathroom because it's exposed to salmonella. That's a hard word to spell.
  • Do you ever clean your seat belt buckle or keys and key chain? Put it on your to-do list.
  • Light switches get really gross. When we stay at a hotel I wipe them down, along with doorknobs and remotes!
  • And lastly, your car stereo knobs. Never change the station again, keep it on 102.9 WBLM to cut down on germs, and Nicki Minaj.

Am I out of line here? Do you worry about germs? I saw a lady sneeze on the produce at my favorite grocery store the other day and I almost went after her. She didn't even try to cover her mouth. I possess a limited amount of impulse control, it was a challenge to not react. Comment and share your feelings about germs, or germaphobes, on our facebook page or tweet #coveryourmouthidiot
