4/15/1967 (48 years ago today) - ...and it hasn't happened since: It's the start of a four week run at Number 1 on the U.S. singles chart for Nancy Sinatra and Frank Sinatra's "Somethin' Stupid", making them the only father/daughter act to score a chart-topping single! On a rather weird side note, Brit pop star Robbie Williams had a 2001 U.K. hit with his cover duet featuring...Nicole Kidman! What the...?

4/15/2001 (14 years ago today) - His real name was Jeffrey Ross Hyman: After a lengthy battle with lymphatic cancer, punk pioneer Joey Ramone passed away. The legendary lead vocalist and front-man for The Ramones was only 49 years old. On November 30, 2003, a block of East 2nd Street in New York City was officially renamed Joey Ramone Place.

4/15/1944 - Happy Birthday to a pretty cool U.K. rock dude who oughtta get more credit for his talents: guitarist, singer, songwriter, producer, arranger and archivist Dave Edmunds turns 71 today! Although he earned praise early on for his guitar prowess with British psychedelic outfit Love Sculpture, Dave's always leaned a little more towards roots-style rock and roll, especially during the New Wave and Pub Rock era of the late '70's/early '80's. His cover of Smiley Lewis' "I Hear You Knockin'" (1970) hit No. 1 in England, No. 4 in America, and sold over three million copies, not bad for back in the day. Quite famously, the band he formed with Nick Lowe in 1980, Rockpile, were notorious for totally and unapologetically blowing away the competition whenever they played live; over the years, Dave's also worked with George Harrison, Rosanne Cash, Jeff Lynne, Carl Perkins, Elvis Costello and Paul McCartney, so he's alright, then...
