4/20/1957 (58 years ago today) - Elvis Presley kicks off an eight week run at the Number One spot on the U.S. singles chart with one of his best: "All Shook Up" goes on to sell over two million copies, making it the most successful release of 1957!

4/20/1968 (47 years ago today) - The name of the band was Roundabout, and frankly it just wasn't working that well, they needed something different, something more in line with the way they sounded. Guitar player Ritchie Blackmore made a suggestion based on the fact that it was his grandmother's favorite tune: Deep Purple officially play for the first time this night at a gig in Denmark. As the years rolled along, Ritchie's grandmother kept asking him when the group would be playing that song...
