8/18/1962 (53 years ago today) - With a mere two hours of prep 'n practice, Ringo plays his first gig with John, Paul and George at the Horticultural Society Dance in Birkenhead, England; it's the birth of The Beatles all right. Worldwide domination is less than two years away...

8/18/1977 (38 years ago today) - They played a mix of rock/punk/reggaedyed their hair blond and performed for the first time ever as a three-piece at Rebecca's in Birmingham, England. If you think you can take it, we've gotta point out that the live debut of The Police happened on this date almost forty years ago! Good Lord...

8/18/1986 (29 years ago today) - Bon Jovi release their third studio album, "Slippery When Wet". A landmark classic for sure -- it goes on to sell over 28 million copies all over the world. We miss Richie Sambora, just sayin'...
