12/8/1968 (48 years ago today) - On the same day that singer-songwriter-guitarist Graham Nash quit The Hollies, he rather quietly hooked up with Stephen Stills and David Crosby to begin rehearsals for honing the vocal harmonies the trio would soon become famous for. We actually got a chance to hang out with Graham once, and (a wee bit surprisingly, considering his actual level of classic rock fame) he turned out to be a very sincere, smart, cool dude...Nice!

12/8/1971 (45 years ago today) - Just for fun, but in case you were wondering, well, here's this weeks Top Selling 8-Track Tape cartridges chart: No. 5 - "Frank Sinatra's Greatest Hits"; No. 4 - Carole King, "Tapestry"; No. 3 - Simon and Garfunkel, "Bridge Over Troubled Water"; No. 2 - "Motown Chartbusters" (Various Artists), and at No. 1 - "Imagine" by John Lennon. All together, we think it sure would make for quite a time capsule/package to be saved for the future, eh?

12/8/1979 (37 years ago today) - Styx go to No. 1 on the singles chart with the cavity-inducing ballad "Babe", the band's only U.S. chart-topper, thank Christ...
