2/20/1958 (62 years ago today) - Tonight's the first stop on a six day jaunt through Florida for the fantastically named "Big Gold Record Stars" Tour -- We're positive this had to be one helluva night 'cuz all on the same bill, you got to check out Bill Haley & His Comets, The Everly Brothers, Buddy Holly & The Crickets, Jerry Lee Lewis and Jimmie Rodgers...Wicked!!!

2/20/1970 (50 years ago today) - The classic "Instant Karma (We All Shine On)" single was released in the U.S. -- Depending upon when/where you bought it, it was listed as being performed by either John Lennon, John Ono Lennon, or The Plastic Ono Band -- Remember, this track was written, recorded and mixed all in one day(!) by John and Phil Spector just a few weeks earlier on January 20th. Today, you can release your work with the touch of a button, but back then, well, this was quite an accomplishment and testament to the fact that if you were (once) a Beatle, you damn well sure could get stuff done...

2/20/1980 (40 years ago today) - AC/DC front-man/singer Bon Scott was pronounced D.O.A. at a London hospital after an evening of heavy, heavy drinking -- Scott was found in the passenger seat of a friend's car; the official coroner's report stated that he had "drunk himself to death", after suffocating on his own vomit. He was 33 years old.
