Just another afternoon for The Fab Four... -- Cool U.K. Fest... -- A b'day for one of our most favorite Brits...

6/21/1966 (50 years ago today) - Abbey Road studios, London: The Beatles are working on a new John Lennon song, "She Said She Said" -- and it gets done, start to finish, in one session! The lyrics were notoriously inspired by actor Peter Fonda's comments during an LSD trip in 1965 with members of The Beatles and The Byrds.

6/21/1975 (41 years ago today) - The ticket would have cost $5.95: You'll get to check out Elton John, The Beach Boys, Joe Walsh, Rufus and The Eagles at London's Wembley Stadium -- attendance: 120,000!

6/21/1944 - Happy Birthday to Ray Davies, 72 years old today. The Kinks' main man/singer/guitarist is, arguably, the most taken-for-granted rock and roll songwriter in the history of music: start with "The Kinks Greatest Hits" collection of their mid-1960's gems, then move on through the bands unbelievable catalog of great LPs on Reprise in the '60's and on RCA in the '70's. God bless 'em -- The Kinks remain the ultimate cult band.
