6/24/1944 - He replaced Eric Clapton in The Yardbirds, so there you go: Happy Birthday to (arguably) the best rock guitarist of all time, the incomparable Jeff Beck, who turns 72 today. Jeff's show at The State Theatre here in Portland, Maine, is still regarded as quite possibly the best and most electrifying concert ever in the history of the city; it was light years past magnificent intensity. We're still buzzin' about it....

6/24/1945 - Happy Birthday to The Zombies' lead vocalist, the ridiculously underrated Colin Blunstone, 71 years old today. If you consider yourself a fan of The British Invasion sounds, then you gotta check out the bands classic "Odyssey And Oracle" LP, right up there with Pink Floyd and The Small Faces as must-have listening for 1960's psychedelia, it's great stuff!

6/24/1947 - Happy Birthday to Mick Fleetwood, 69 years old today -- Merged his name with bassist John McVie to form Fleetwood Mac in London back in April, 1967 -- Spent most of his childhood years living in Egypt and Norway (his dad was in the Royal Air Force) and, just to keep him occupied and out of trouble, his parents got him a drum kit when he turned 13 -- The rest, as they say...
