3/28/1967 (51 years ago today) - While working on "Sgt. Pepper" at London's Abbey Road studios, John Lennon records his lead vocal for "Good Morning, Good Morning" -- Paul McCartney plays the lead guitar part, while John suggests that he wants the song to end with animal sound effects that could be sequenced in such a way that each successive animal was capable of scaring or eating the preceding one. Drugs may have been involved after all...

3/28/1974 (44 years ago today) - Delta blues singer-songwriter-guitarist Arthur 'Big Boy' Crudup {one of the best names ever!!!} died of a stroke at the age of 69 -- He became known as the "Father of Rock 'n' Roll" after Elvis recorded three of Arthur's songs in the '50's: "That's All Right", "My Baby Left Me" (also covered by Creedence Clearwater Revival) and "So Glad You're Mine" -- At the time of his death, Arthur had just finished touring with Bonnie Raitt...

3/28/1982 (36 years ago today) - David Crosby was arrested after crashing his vehicle on the San Diego highway -- Police found cocaine and a pistol in his car and when they asked him why he had a gun, David's reply was "John Lennon".
