11/10/1963 (53 years ago today) - This had to have been a great night out: The Yardbirds (who have only been together for a few months!) with Eric Clapton on lead guitar, appear at The Crawdaddy Club, Richmond, Surrey, England. No hit singles yet, just crackin' blues covers at supersonic volume. Pioneering band, really...

11/10/1979 (37 years ago today) - The Eagles hit No. 1 with the classic "Heartache Tonight"; it's their fifth (and final) U.S. No. 1 single...Betcha didn't know: Bob Seger wrote the chorus(!); and the song was later covered by Country & Western legend Conway Twitty, as well as Tom Jones and pseudo-soft-jazzman-singer Michael Buble, who did it in a big band arrangement, oh yes he did (and good luck):

11/10/1997 (19 years ago today) - Highly-in-demand session guitarist Tommy Tedesco passed away after a battle with lung cancer; he was 67 years old. If you don't think you know him, you've undoubtedly heard him: Tommy played on many classic TV themes including "Bonanza", "The Twilight Zone", "M*A*S*H", "Green Acres" and "Batman", plus some influential movie soundtracks as well, like "The Godfather", "Jaws", "The French Connection" and "The Deer Hunter". According to "Guitar Player" magazine (who would know these things), Mr. Tedesco was the most recorded guitarist in history, having played on releases from The Beach Boys, Elvis Presley, Frank Zappa, Barbra Streisand, The Everly Brothers, Ricky Nelson, The Mamas & Papas,The Monkees, Sam Cooke, Cher, Nancy and Frank Sinatra and The Supremes, to name but a few! Had to be a mighty cool dude is what we think...
