11/8/1965 (51 years ago today) - The Beatles are at work on new songs for the forthcoming "Rubber Soul" album; today they're practicing George Harrison's latest composition, "Think For Yourself". After a brief run-through, they record the basic instrumental track in one take. One take!!!

11/8/1975 (41 years ago today) - I'm hearing the lyric "Baby, why'd ya wait so long?" here...: David Bowie {finally} makes his U.S. television debut -- he performs "Fame" on Cher's CBS-TV show; the song was the result of a jam session with John Lennon when he was living in New York City and Bowie (supposedly) at the time didn't think much of it, saying he didn't really know how to go about writing hit singles. Words of wisdom, actually...

11/8/1949 - Happy Birthday Bonnie Raitt, 67 years old today -- Would be honored and humbled to have her play a slide solo on any given day -- And yeah, we absolutely/unequivocally love her, but have also been told not to mess with her. Good advice. The following performance slays rather nicely:
