10/11/1967 (49 years ago today) - The Doors play at Danberry High School, Danbury, Connecticut, but a couple of things have to happen first: On the same stage the band will be playing on, a Beauty Pageant is held(!), followed by a local announcer telling the audience not to leave their seats during The Doors performance or they would be escorted out of the venue. Have fun, now!!!

10/11/2003 (13 years ago today) - Mojo magazine (one of the best in the world, really!) asked their readers to vote for what they thought the most pivotal moments in rock history are, and the results are published in this month's issue with Elvis Presley's debut single "That's All Right" coming in at No. 1, and Bob Dylan's switch from acoustic to electric guitars in 1965 a close second.

10/11/1949 - Happy Birthday to one of the best singers ever (yes, he can literally sing the bejesus out of anything!!!!), Daryl Hall, 67 years old today. First saw Hall + Oates at The Paradise in Boston, 1979, Daryl played a trombone solo!
