"Here comes the bride!" -- There goes a Mother! -- and who's been on E Street longer than anyone else...

10/27/1964 (51 years ago today) - 31 year old Salvatore Philip Bono married 19 year old Cherilyn Sarkisian La Piere. For a while they had an act together calling themselves Caesar and Cleo; success didn't come their way, however, until they changed their performance names to Sonny and Cher. The union lasted 12 years.

10/27/1977 (38 years ago today) - A founding member of Little Feat who also worked closely with Frank Zappa and The Mothers Of Invention during their very influential early years, is convicted of sexual assault on a child -- Roy Estrada would serve six years in prison on this charge, but it's not over yet. In January 2012 he pleaded guilty to a charge of continuous sexual child abuse which happened in March 2008. There's a plea bargain agreement, which ends with Roy currently serving 25 years in prison and no chance for parole. An ugly and gruesome story indeed.

10/27/1949 - Happy Birthday to bassist Garry Tallent, 66 years old today. Garry's been playing with Bruce Springsteen longer than anyone else in the E Street entourage, dating all the way back to Bruce's earliest attempts at rock like the legendary Dr. Zoom and the Sonic Boom band. Garry played tuba in the high school (that's him on "Wild Billy's Circus Story" on "The Wild, The Innocent & The E Street Shuffle" LP), but of course he wanted to rock out like his heroes Paul McCartney and Bill Wyman. The rest, as they say...
