10/8/1964 (54 years ago today) - With Paul doing his best Ray Charles, this track became one of our Top Five Beatle favorites, no doubt about it: While working at Abbey Road studios in London, The Beatles recorded one side of their next single -- Including overdubs, it only took seven takes to complete "She's A Woman"; from start to finished product, the boys had it nailed down in less than five hours! Unreal.

10/8/1987 (31 years ago today) - Apparently, they're still waiting to hear back: On this date, all three members of ZZ Top made advance bookings for seats on the first passenger flight to the Moon. Really.

10/8/1948 - Guitarist for punk rock icons The Ramones was born on this date, and as the one and only Johnny Ramone, let's properly give it up good for {real name} John Cummings' contributions to the burgeoning DIY scene of the mid-Seventies, impossible to over-praise, never to be under-estimated. Sadly, no band members are currently alive; Johnny passed away from prostate cancer on September 15, 2004. We really mean it when we say "God Bless The Ramones!!!", their first three albums can still induce whiplash...
