The Beatles sure did work quickly...How about seeing Bruce for a buck?...Lick your favorite stars...

10/8/1964 (51 years ago today) - Working at Abbey Road studios in London, The Beatles recorded their next single "She's A Woman" in seven takes, including overdubs! One of their raunchiest most-straight-forward rockers took less than five hours to complete.

10/8/1965 (50 years ago today) - Appearing at the I.B. Club in Howell, New Jersey, a band known as The Florescents are the headliners; a neighborhood band, The Castiles, are making their very first publicly advertised nightclub appearance as the opening act. The lead singer for The Castiles, a local hot-shot guitarist by the name of Bruce Springsteen, is pretty psyched up to hit the stage. Ticket price for the night: $1.00.

10/8/1992 (23 years ago today) - The U.S. Postal Service issues a set of commemorative stamps to celebrate pop music legends, including Buddy Holly, Otis Redding, Dinah Washington, Bill Haley, Ritchie Valens, Clyde McPhatter and Elvis Presley. Care to guess who outsold them all? Clue: it wasn't even close....
