9/25/1965 (55 years ago today) - The Beatles cartoon series premiered on ABC-TV -- The debut episode was titled "I Want To Hold Your Hand" and featured the group exploring the ocean floor in a diving bell where they happen to come across a lovesick octopus. Yes, we tuned in. But that's alright, you did too...

9/25/1970 (50 years ago today) - Now that The (real) Beatles are "done", we gotta put up with this stuff...: "The Partridge Family" debuted on ABC-TV on this date, part of a Friday night line-up that was surely designed for the baby-sitter crowd: 8:00, "The Brady Bunch"; 8:30, "Nanny & The Professor"; The Partridge's at 9:00, "Love, American Style" at 9:30, "This Is Tom Jones" at 10:00. And if you didn't like what was on, you had to get off the couch, then actually walk up to your set and twist a dial! Way too much work, we know...

9/25/1982 (38 years ago today) - We don't remember this...at all: Queen was the musical guest on NBC's "Saturday Night Live", where they performed "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" and "Under Pressure". We were too cool for school in '82, apparently...
