Tonight’s WBLM Mini-Concert

Today we mark a sad day in rock history as we remember the great Richard Wright, keyboard player and co-founder of Pink Floyd. 

Rick passed away from cancer on September 15, 2008 at the age of 65. His keyboard work was truly essential to the band's sound and it appeared on every Pink Floyd album from 1967’s The Piper at the Gates of Dawn to 1979’s The Wall. He did not appear on The Final Cut in 1983, but returned in 1987 for A Momentary Lapse of Reason and 1994 for The Division Bell. When he passed, Pink Floyd’s David Gilmour said, “He was such a lovely, gentle, genuine man and will be missed terribly by so many who loved him.” Lets think of Rick on the eve of the 8th anniversary of his passing and celebrate his outstanding contributions to music.
