Tonight’s WBLM Mini-Concert [VIDEO]

Join us tonight at 5:20 in the Big Red Love Van for a Joan Jett Mini-Concert! She was born Joan Marie Larkin on September 22, 1958 in Wynnewood, Pennsylvania a suburb of Philadelphia. In the mid seventies, Joan was a founding member of the Runaways. They were truly pioneers because they were the first successful all-female rock band. When the Runaways broke up in 1979, Joan went on to form the Blackhearts the following year. She has enjoyed an amazing solo career that started with her first hit "I Love Rock 'n' Roll" in 1982. Earlier this year, Joan Jett sang and played guitar for a performance of "Smells Like Teen Spirit" with the guys from  Nirvana for their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
