I’m back at Gritty’s in Auburn today for another live broadcast of the WBLM Afternoon Express! We love coming back to our roots and sharing memories with area Blimpsters who have been with us since the beginning. Of course the biggest ‘remember when’ stories are all the great concerts that came to Lewiston/Auburn back in the day. So this week, we celebrated shows that rocked L/A. Bruce Springsteen, Aerosmith, Queen!! Tonight, we saved the most epic for last.

It’s one of the most historic concerts that ever happened in Maine.  On May 16, 1968, the Jimi Hendrix Experience played their one and only show at the Lewiston Armory. By the way, a 10 year old Tommy C saw Jimi on that same tour under a tent at a summer music theater called the Carousel in Framingham, Massachusetts...no wonder he's so damn cool!

Join us at 5:20 for live Jimi Hendrix on the WBLM Mini-Concert!

This should give you pretty good idea of how it went down at the Armory in Lewiston on that historic night.
