Yesterday we celebrated Pete Townshend turning the big 7-0 with the Who live and loud on the ride home. Sharing a birthday with Pete is another rock legend born on May 19, 1949 in Dallas, Texas.  Joseph Michael Hill turns 66 this week. Blimpville knows him better as 'Dusty' from ZZ Top. He's became the bass player, co-vocalist and sometimes keyboardist soon after 'That Lil' Ole Band from Texas' formed in 1969. There were two other bass players in the band briefly before Dusty joined. ZZ Top is currently on tour and unfortunately a Portland date isn't included. They were scheduled to play at the Maine State Pier last fall but had to cancel because Dusty suffered a hip injury. Hopefully we can get 'em back to Portland soon, Blimpsters love to boogie with them drums, bass and fuzzy guitars.

Join us tonight at 5:20 for live ZZ Top on the WBLM Mini-Concert.

Watch ZZ Top and Jeff Beck doing Tush on tour last year...Happy Birthday Dusty!
