Tonight’s WBLM Mini-Concert [VIDEO]

Man, oh man, November 11 is a huge day in Blimp history for legendary names at the Civic Center!Queen, Jimmy Page and Fleetwood Mac all came to rock Portland’s biggest indoor venue on Veteran’s Day over the years. We’ll celebrate with Mini-Concerts all this week!

Queen was last night and tonight it's live Led Zeppelin. Although Zep never played in Portland, Blimpsters saw Robert Plant at the Civic Center in 1990 and Jimmy Page in 1988. Unbelievably, neither show was a sell-out. Jimmy came to our town on 27 years ago today on November 11, 1988. This was in support of his album Outrider. Jason Bonham played drums for the first time on record on this one and also kept time for Jimmy on the tour. The highlight of the night for me was when Jimmy brought out the bow for Dazed and Confused in the center of a pyramid of lasers! Mind still blown!
