36 years ago, the mighty J. Geils Band returned to the CCCC for the second time. It was the Love Stinks tour and the first of many sold out shows in the 80s here in Portland on May 2, 1980.The title track and Come Back were getting plenty of exposure on WBLM and I'm pretty sure I copied the album from vinyl to cassette so I could listen to it on my little boom box strapped to my Schwinn. Being from Boston, The J. Geils Band was always popular up here in Maine and they've been real good to us. The Houseparty has rocked Blimpville live 8 times over the years.

Join us tonight at 6:20 for live J. Geils Band on the WBLM Mini-Concert!

Electrifying front-man Peter Wolf will be back in town to promote his new solo album, A Cure for Loneliness with a show at Port City Music Hall on May 11th.

Check out the new bluegrass version of Love Stinks...wicked fun!

And here's the original featuring gas masks and glitter pants.
