Toto returns with an album that could be defined as a realized vision three plus decades in the making. TOTO XIV” is the group’s first new album in nearly 10 years. This new album is arguably the true follow-up to TOTO IV which made the band global superstars, and the band's first studio album since Falling In Between (2006).

As a band, Toto has sold more than 35 MILLION albums.  As individuals, the band members’ can be heard on an astonishing 5000 albums that exceed sales of a HALF A BILLION albums - including 225 albums which have received Grammy nominations.Toto’s Top-40 hits, include: Africa, Rosanna, Hold The Line, I Won’t Hold You Back, and I’ll Be Over You. Just to name a few! Other artists whose music carry's a Toto imprint are Paul Simon, Boz Scaggs, Yes, Kiss, Steely Dan, Jackson Brown and SO many more. Amongst all the accomplishments on the performance side, few had a deeper impact than Michael Jackson's international hits the Thriller and Bad albums. On "Beat It," Luke played all the guitars (aside from the famous Eddie Van Halen solo) and the bass parts, and Jeff Porcaro played drums making it more TOTO than most people are aware. They also contributed to the Jackson / McCartney duet. These are just the tip of the iceberg.

In May, 2012, Family Guy utilized "Africa" within the plot of the season finale. In March, 2012, Jimmy Fallon and Justin Timberlake's sketch that uses the track has now been viewed 5 million times on YouTube.  They are pop culture, and one of the few 70’s bands that have endured the changing trends and styles.

Toto will embark on an extensive European headline tour beginning in May which will include performances at some big festivals. A North American tour will follow in the summer.

One of the original members of Toto, keyboardist, songwriter and vocalist David Paich called into HOM Mornings to talk about the new album. He also shared some insight into what has allowed the band to perservere through the years, HIS favorite Toto song and he shares his thoughts on the Christmas song "12 Days of Christmas" by Straight No Chaser that samples the song Africa in the bridge.

HUGE thanks for David Paich from Toto for his time with us today. Check out Toto's website to find out where to see them on tour and learn more about the new album.
