Mere days after they shut down Hollywood Boulevard (and endangered David Lee Roth's nose) during a special performance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Van Halen traveled down the TV dial for an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

The band's Ellen set, which was announced just prior to the group's extensive 2015 tour, marked their second television appearance since reuniting with Roth, and found them deeper along the promotional trail for their new live album, Tokyo Dome Live in Concert.

Playing a shorter show before a live studio audience, the band performed "Jump," which you can watch above, followed by "Dance the Night Away," which is available on Ellen's website. In between songs, Roth expressed his excitement for the rare daytime TV gig.

"This is the most auspicious way of starting the tour," enthused Roth after DeGeneres walked onstage for an interview. "We've never played American television before, and it was our idea that you couldn't possibly pick a better audience than this here. This is our Ed Sullivan Show! This is James Brown on The Ed Sullivan Show. This is the Beatles. This is a really big showcase for us."

Tokyo Dome Live in Concert, which collects performances from the Tokyo stop on the band's 2012-13 tour and serves as their first official live release with Roth in the lineup, arrived in stores earlier this week, along with remastered versions of Van Halen and 1984. Further reissues are planned for later this year.
