Genfare.com recently researched the largest annual events in each state. Music Festivals, Food and Beverage Events, Sporting Events, Parades and State Fairs were all considered. What do you think is the biggest event held in Maine?

The winner is... Maine Lobster Festival! This year the 71st festival takes place August 1-5 in Rockland. Five days of lobster-centric celebration that draws people in from all over the world. Enjoy a lobster dinner served with award winning, made-in-Maine Cabot Butter, Lobster Rolls, Lobster Mac-n-Cheese, Lobster Bisque, Lobster Wontons and Lobster Stuffed Risotto Balls in the Main Eating Tent!

Not really a lobster fan but want to be part of the party? Options include: steamed and fried clams, shrimp cocktail, mussels steamed in wine or vegetable sauce, fried Maine shrimp and all of the traditional fair food too.

Enjoy shopping locally in  the craft tent, fine art tent and the art show. Vendors will be there as well with lots of treasures.
