It's a benchmark of autumn in Blimpville, apple picking! My family went last weekend so I guess I had better learn how to bake an apple pie to use up these little gems. Maybe apple turnovers would be a little less labor intensive! My cousin Tanya is the social director of the family, and very often our trips are planned around food. Every year we visit Story Land, not just to see the Three Little Pigs, but also for Hawaiian Ice and blueberry cobbler with ice cream.

Our trip to Santa's Village isn't complete without those delicious mini donuts that seem to stay warm forever. It's magic I tell you! Apple picking is no different. On Sunday Tanya had us following a lead to some tasty cider donuts at Rocky Ridge Orchard in Bowdoin. It was about 88 degrees and not very fall-like but we had a great time!

We didn't leave many apples for the deer or other pickers. Sabelle and Anneliese acted as quality control officers.
