I'll admit that I take having a real Christmas tree for granted. I grew up with a live tree and it was usually a very full Douglas Fir. I didn't really think about other parts of the country where pine trees are not on their state flag, they are shelling out sick coin for fresh Christmas trees! Our family tradition is to get ours at Mill  Creek Park where the Rotary sells them. It's always a nice experience, the park is decorated with lights and they'll give your tree a fresh cut before you go. The girls get a free tree ornament with a candy cane and we all gather at the kitchen sink to wash the pine sap off our hands. Tradition!
