There was supposed to be a can of jellied cranberry sauce in this picture but we ate it two days ago. Although I do feel embarrassed by what you see here, I want you to know that I have never made those funky mashed potato flakes, I got them just for this photo shoot.

While looking at the selection of mashed potato in-a-pouch, it occured to me that there was quite a lot. Someone is eating them!  So, I'm just going to come clean and admit that I have always loved Stove Top Stuffing and cranberry sauce from a can. It is such a bummer for me when some well-meaning host is stirring "cranberry relish" on the stove to go with their secret recipe stuffing. I'm always hoping it's hopped up Stove Top with some celery and onion thrown in to make it look homemade.

That spinach/artichoke dip that everyone in the world knows how to make but me? I buy it at Hannaford. I get two containers, dump them in a casserole dish, sprinkle on some fresh parm and warm it up at 350 degrees. the house smells great and everyone oohs and aahs.

I love fine food, but my comfort food has not a hint of homemade to it.
