Escalators do not scare me. Unless they are broken. This is the site that awaited me here at One City Center when I wanted to go downstairs to Dunkin' Donuts to grab a coffee. Routine Maintenance. Those words strike fear into my heart. The elevator was in use, so I waited for the awkwardness of someone else climbing up the escalator to pass me so that I could begin my tricky descent down the steel stairs of death. I took a deep breath before making that first treacherous step. Then I almost fell forward as vertigo kicked in and I felt like I was going to fall and fall and fall! What is wrong with me?! This is not a broken escalator, they are now stairs! Thank goodness that I found an explanation! And yes, it's all in my head! This article brings some much needed clarity to the situation. It's called "Broken Escalator Phenomenon" people! I am not alone!

Do you suffer from "Broken Escalator Phenomenon" too? Any other phobias that you would like to share with the group? Comment on our Fan Page or tweet #movingstairs

Keep me away from the edge of a cliff, same thing happens to me there.
