Above you see what I consider to be a perfect potato chip. It is a kettle chip that is folded upon itself to create layers of crunching satisfaction! A professor at Oxford University did a study on how people's perceptions of taste are influenced by not only how a food looks, but how it sounds! Participants ate chips while wearing headphones, and they perceived the chips to be yummiest when the crunching sounds were cranked, making them sound fresher and crispier. A similar study was done at Cornell University where scientists found that people will continue to eat stale popcorn as long as there is lots of it!

Do you love crunchy food? How much does texture affect your desire for a food. I'll admit, the texture of baked beans just grosses me out!
