This may seem like a loaded question after Patriots Nation saw their team's defense totally bulldozed by the Kansas City Chiefs. But how well the Pats defense plays against the 3-0 Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday Night Football at Gillette Stadium will more than likely determine the outcome.

With Andy Dalton at quarterback, the Bengals are loaded with offense that can run trick plays, play power football and simply beat teams in a number of ways. The Bengals defense is also very fast and will give the Patriots beleaguered offense line plenty of fits and starts. A big key will be whether the Patriots can force some turnovers by pressuring Dalton and not allowing their best receivers to spread the field.

According to Patriots.com, Tom Brady has also had great games on Sunday Night Football and the Patriots have a winning record overall against the Bengals. The Pats fell to the Bengals at Paul Brown Stadium a year ago, 13-6, when they failed to score a touchdown. One of the interesting things to watch will be whether the Patriots opt to receive the ball first if they win the opening kickoff coin toss.

Traditionally, Bill Belichick likes to have the Patriots receive the ball at the beginning of the second half, but he may change things up to give the Pats offense a chance to score first.
