Police in Fairfield are looking for the public's help in locating the driver of a vehicle who led them on a chase on Sunday evening.

According to an article in the KJ, police are looking for the man who led them on a chase that started on Mercer Road in Town of Norridgewock at about 9:15 PM on Sunday.  The chase reportedly continued through Fairfield and into Benton.  In Benton, the driver ditched the car, which was stolen, and fled into the woods.

The car, a 2010 Subaru Impreza, had been stolen in Farmington.  When it was recovered, police found a dog in the car.  The pup was taken to the police, where it was reunited with its owner.

According to Fairfield Police Department Officer Casey Dugas, the Subaru reached speeds of at least 94 miles per hour during the chase.

After the driver abandoned the Subaru, police attempted to use a canine to locate the man.  They were unsuccessful.  At this time, the suspect still has not been caught.

Police are investigating.
