It was an absolutely incredible run on national TV for "Central Maine Idol" turned "American Idol" Julia Gagnon, but it's far from over.

As I watched "American Idol" on Sunday night, I thought there were only a couple of people left in the top 8 that were even close to Julia's level of talent, however, Julia was still cut from the show.

And to be totally honest with you, I don't think she was cut for talent, I think she was cut simply because other contestants hail from areas that just have more people that are voting. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

But I also believe that this is one of the best things that can happen to an idol. Winning American Idol is certainly a cool claim-to-fame, but I also believe that there tends to be a winner's curse.

Traditionally, contestants that have made it into the top 10 on "American Idol," but that haven't won the show, have better careers than those who go on to win the whole thing.

Not only that, but I also believe that the attitude and spirit you carry after "losing" has a lot to do with the overall trajectory of your musical career. And if there's one thing we know about Ms. Gagnon, she has an incredible spirit.

She was amazing all season long on Idol, and even when she was eliminated on live national television, she still carried herself with such incredible class and grace.

We could all learn so much from Julia. Not just how to command the ever-loving hell out of a stage, but how to be a damn-good human being. She is an inspiration and a role model for all who look up to her.

Julia, we are all so proud of you and all you have accomplished in such a short time. We have no doubts that the proverbial sky is the limit for you and we will be cheering you the entire way.
