We are all relieved and beyond excited to be able to attend this year's L/A Balloon Festival at Simard Payne Park.

At first, we weren't sure it was even going to take place, and now, it's on! And I am emceeing!

According to LA Balloon Fest, the event will take places this weekend, August 16-18. This is the highlight of the summer coming to a close in Maine, and for many years, thousands of locals and tourists have been flocking downtown Lewiston/Auburn to enjoy the festivities.

It's a treat each year, and this year will be no exception. Packed with amazing events, this year's festival is expecting up to 100,000 folks, according to event organizers.

The festival kicks off with a dawn balloon launch, which I believe is the most magical part of the entire weekend. Early risers get out of bed, grab their coffee, and watch as the balloons take to the skies. Throughout the entire weekend, there will be live music, vendors selling local crafts, food trucks with yummy treats, and so much more.

Below are the events that I am most looking forward to:

  • AM/PM Balloon Launches – Wake up early and watch the balloons float in the sky at 6AM and 6PM each day.
  • Evening Balloon Glow – This is majestic, wondrous, and magical. And each year, it blows me away to watch the balloons lights up in the night sky.
  • Main Stage Entertainment – You can sit and watch live performances by local bands. Check out who's playing on LA Balloon Fest.
  • Vendor Fair – I love being able to explore and indulge in Maine's delicious treats and enjoy Maine-made crafts and goods.
  • Family Fun Day – This is an entire day dedicated to family, with activities and entertainment for your people to make memories to last a lifetime.

All of these activities will take place throughout the weekend in different areas of the downtown area. Make sure to take a look at the entire schedule of events at LA Balloon Fest. I'll see you there!
