Sliders Sports Pub to Close Doors After 15 Months of Serving Lewiston, Maine

As the new year has open, Lewiston, Mainem will see a closing.

It's recently been announced that Sliders Sports Pub is closing their doors

Sliders Sports Pub is still a fairly new restaurant in Lewiston, and is suddenly set to close after 15 months of bringing together the community through great food, drinks, and fun competition.

The pub opened in late 2023 and has made an impact on the local scene. Located on 40 East Ave, it has been creating an epic space for friends to hang and enjoy good food and fun.

In a recently published statement to their Facebook page, the Sliders team announced the closure. This will be effective February 1. The message echoed gratitude and sadness.

"It’s not goodbye, it’s see you later,"
"From the very first time we served you, to the countless meals shared and friendships made, Sliders was never just a restaurant. It was a gathering place, a home."

Sliders quickly became a hub for us Lewiston residents, not just because of the food, but they had Cornhole!

The team’s commitment to providing a space where people could relax and connect left an indelible mark on the town.

Despite the positive experience, the pub has been unable to overcome the mounting challenges of operating in its current location. Rising costs, rent increases, with a slowing economy, has made it difficult for them to continue.

According to the post, the decision to close was not made lightly, as the Sliders' team had hoped to keep their dream alive for years to come.

Many are sad to hear the news.

"We never held back whether it was on social media or in person. Those are memories that we will cherish and what will stay with us forever."

As the community says goodbye to Sliders, the team expressed deep thanks for the support.

"We will forever be grateful for the opportunity to serve you," they wrote. "Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for your support, your patronage, and the sense of belonging you gave us during this short but beautiful time."

Even though the doors of Sliders Sports Pub will close, the Sliders team isn't saying goodbye.

In true Sliders fashion, they say “see you later,” leaving the door open for future reunions and memories yet to be made.

They've also teased to keep an eye open for their last big event and last night open right here, on their Facebook page.
