
Opening Day 2026 is Nearly Here for These 10 Maine, New Hampshire Water and Amusement Parks
You see that blue sky out there? You feel those warmer temps? You see New Englanders wearing shorts?
Yeah, it's May, and that means going outside doesn't involve biting cold or sadness anymore. It also means Maine and New Hampshire amusement and water parks will soon be opening.
In fact, a good number of them open on the same day, which just means you're going to have plan out mulitple weekends to hit them all up before summer ends.
Amusement Parks Opening in Maine in 2026
Maine has some great amusement and water parks, including Aquaboggan, Funtown/Splashtown, Palace Playland, and York's Wild Kingdom.
For 2026, there's even going to be a new ride called Gold Rush at Palace Playland.
And Splashtown has even teased something new on the horizon, which, based on the Facebook photo, could be a new kiddie splash pad?
That's, of course, in addition to all the other slides and rides you can find in Saco.
You'll find a number of Pine Tree State spots make their seasonal debut in May.
Amusement Parks Opening in New Hampshire in 2026
Meanwhile, in New Hampshire, you can find the likes of Canobie Lake Park, Santa's Village, Story Land, Water Country, and Whale's Tale Water Park.
Did you know some places even have adult-only nights like Story Land? The first one at the Glen amusement park is July 11 and is for those over 21 looking to enjoy drinks, rides and pure nostaslgia.
As for the first place to open its doors for the season? That's Canobie Lake Park on May 16.
