It's hard to see restaurants close their doors for good, especially because you want to see Maine businesses find success and keep it going.

Sometimes, the final chapter comes for those places through a variety of reasons, whether they be personal, financial, or something else.

That was the case for four Pine Tree State spots that ended their respective runs in September 2025.

While it was certainly exciting to see the debut of new restaurants in Maine in September, the flip side of that coin was a handful of spots closed.

Have you eaten at any of these spots? Unfortunately, many of these places weren't open for very long, and it just further highlights how difficult it can be to keep a restaurant going.

While Crybabies Restaurant in Stonington, Wiley's in Rockland, Definitive Brewing Company's tasting room in Kittery, and My Buddy's Place in Bucksport may have called it quits, the memories certainly live on in the time they were around.

Numerous comments on the social media posts of the closing announcements highlighted the love for these places. That can't be taken away.
