Maine Business Moving Headquarters to Windham and Building Public Ice Rink
Ice Ops & Arena Consulting in Maine has been building and repairing ice rinks worldwide for over 10 years, from permanent ice rinks to portable ones, including 22 for the NHL. One of these was the Frozen Fenway game in 2017.
These guys are the experts when it comes to ice rinks, and are based right here in Casco, Maine. At least for now.
Ice Ops announced that on August 2, they will be building new headquarters in Windham, Maine, which will include a public ice rink during the winter. It will be a host for both hockey and public skating for Windham and the surrounding communities.
No location was specified by Ice Ops, but based on the artist's rendition that they shared on Facebook, it appears to be Enterprise Drive, just west of Seacoast Fun Park off Route 302.
For those who live in Windham, it's the dead-end road that leads to the brush and leaf dump that is open in the spring and fall.
This move comes as they plan to celebrate their 10th anniversary as Ice Ops & Arena Consulting. There are still a lot of details to hammer out, but the land is secured, and when the move is completed, this should be a great place to lace up your skates and enjoy the winter weather.
If Windham isn't that close to you for skating at an ice rink, the website UntamedMainer has a list of 30 different indoor and outdoor skating rinks, so you're sure to find one nearby.
