So the story goes in Portland, Maine. One minute you're on top, and the next minute you're finding a new place to call home.

There's no city in Maine where the restaurant business is more competitive than Portland. In just the last decade, many of the city's oldest restaurants have been shuddered and replaced with trendier places looking to make a mark on the state for the next decade and beyond.

With a constant flow of comings and goings, some smaller restaurants can often get lost in the shuffle. Small restaurants like Bao Bao Dumpling House, a cozy little spot that grew to become a Portland favorite over the years.

Bao Bao Dumpling House had been closed since February. According to the Portland Press Herald, the restaurant had stated the closure was simply due to a staffing shortage, and that it would likely be temporary.

But that temporary closure extended on for weeks and then months, prompting fans of restaurant to become curious when their little dumpling house would ever reopen. It will, just not in the same building or city.

According to Portland Food Map, Bao Bao Dumpling House is picking up their operations from Portland and moving them to Brunswick, where they'll share a space with another restaurant.

Bao Bao Dumpling House will become Bao Bao at Tao, as it shares restaurant space with Tao Yuan in Brunswick. The menu at the new location will be similar to what visitors to their Portland location experienced. There will be limited seating, but Bao Bao plans to have an expansive takeout business.
