Watch: Adorable Bear Cubs Use Mama Bear’s Back to Swim Through Massachusetts Reservoir

Incoming daily dose of cuteness...and your daily reminder that bears are out in New England. People have a misconception about the number of big game in New England - mostly bears and moose.

People often think that bears are only found in Northern New Hampshire and Northern Maine - certainly not true. There are over 4,500 bears living in Massachusetts, according to a Mass.gov article. New Hampshire is only slightly above that number.

Maine on the other hand has MUCH more - roughly 35,000 bears call Maine home.

Make no mistake, bears are plentiful in New England. Most of the time, bears and humans do not come in contact. We don't walk the same paths all that often...but from time to time we do. Sometimes bears are running where we are driving...

And other times a whole family of black bears are swimming where we are fishing. And that is exactly what happened for one fisherman who captured the adorable swim on their phone.

The mama black bear is seen swimming through the Quabbin Reservoir in New Salem, Massachusetts. Her little cubs are sitting, trying to hold, on her back as she paddles the wide water.

Bear cubs can start swimming very early, as little as a few months old. Because of their young age, and therefore developing muscles, these two bears might have been a little too tired for the entirety of the trip around the Massachusetts reservoir.
