One of USA’s Best Bike Paths is in New England, and It’s Gorgeous
Did you know that one of the best bike paths in the entire United States is in New England?
Bike paths are everywhere, and without looking them up, you may not notice them. That, and the fact that many are in the thick of the woods.
Well, it is nearly impossible to miss the Colchester Causeway in Colchester, Vermont, because it is a stunner.
The Colchester Causeway, technically called the Lake Champlain Causeway, is a gravel biking and walking path that goes through the gorgeous Lake Champlain.
The backdrop, beyond the water, is the Adirondack Mountains in New York. Lake Champlain separates NY and VT so you likely won't find a better view for a bike ride.
The causeway itself is flat, making it a super popular path for beginners.
The trail is about 10 miles, out and back, according to the All Trails page.
Besides the ease and gorgeous views this trail offers, the surrounding area is what makes it one of the best.
The Causeway trailhead is only 7 miles (15 minutes) north of Burlington, VT - which is maybe my favorite city in New England.

If you like to bike or want to try, the Colchester (Lake Champlain) Causeway is a must!
