The Cumberland County Sheriff's Office has issued a warning about a surge in fraudulent scam calls reported by local residents. This one states that scammers are posing as law enforcement officers from the sheriff's office and once again, involves gift cards.
The snow is still expected to have a total snow of 12-18 inches in southern New Hampshire and southern Maine before tapering off late in the afternoon.
A Winter Storm Watch is in effect for the entire area as the National Weather Service is expecting snow to fall heavy at times between late Saturday night and most of Sunday.
Superintendent Tim Matheney said the threat was not related to active shooting incidents reported at ten Maine schools Tuesday, which all turned out to be false.
