Unbeknownst to many Maine residents and tourists alike, the famous house and cemetery used in the Hollywood version of Stephen King's "Pet Sematary" is located right here in Maine...and still exists!
Well you've got to hand it to the University of Maine's baseball team, for the 2nd straight season they've spoofed a famous baseball movie and it's damn good. Thanks to the Bangor Daily News blog for bringing some attention this fantastic "The Sandlot" spoof that the UMaine baseball team is calling the "The Snowlot".
Sylvester Stallone has had two great franchise characters, Rocky Balboa and John Rambo, and was able to resurrect both over the last decade successfully. But though Balboa's gloves are hung up (even if Stallone recently paid homage to that character), it looks like we're going to get a 'Rambo 5' that promises to be one of the most thoughtful of the series' sequels.
Neither the Emerge Film Festival organizers or the movie directors could have scripted a more perfect beginning for the first day of a brand new event. Festival goers in Lewiston-Auburn will be greeted by a full moon on Friday the 13th which could add some excitement to what already promises to be an amazing weekend...
