It looks like we might get a little snow here at the tail-end of our week. No biggie- "more decorative than impactful" says Matt Hoenig at WMTW. Certainly not the kind of storm we had 9 years ago in Maine. The Halloween Nor'easter of 2011 was a doozy! I remember taking the kids out trick or treating in snow boots. And in total darkness, as all the power was out in our neighborhood. Did that stop us from going out and going house to house? Of course not! Only a global pandemic would ever do that. Oh, wait a minute...
Plenty of wild sights to wow us on the morning commute that's for sure. Not much tops what Colby Thomas saw earlier today on Bacon Street in Biddeford.
Here comes the first big Nor'easter of the season. We could see gusts up to 60 mph between 11 pm tonite and 11 am Thursday morning. It should be pretty crazy at Maine beaches with the wind, rain, and surf. Here's a safe and warm way to watch it all-with a cool live cam of Higgins Beach in Scarborough. I bet if you watch you'll see some surfers out there. Be safe everybody!
This will be our first Nor'easter, with no white but plenty of wet blowing hard out there. Expect the possibility of battering wind gusts up to 55 MPH with heavy rain especially along the coast.
Looks like most areas in Blimpville will get around an inch or more with a storm headed our way Wednesday night into Thursday. Thankfully, that inch or more won't be snow.
