June 8, 1987 was the first of two nights in Portland for Bryan Adams on his Into the Fire tour. This was his second appearance and first time headlining at the Cumberland County Civic Center. He came to our town in 1983 opening for Hall and Oates. You might be saying to yourself, "wait a minute, I saw him on the Reckless tour." Well, that show was at the Augusta in October of '85. The set list 29 years ago today featured new songs like Hearts on Fire, Only the Strong Survive, and Heat of the Night along with the favorites Cuts Like a Knife, Heaven, Run to You, and Summer of '69  to name a few. The Hooters opened the show. They were on the road with Bryan promoting their new album, One Way Home. Bryan Adams played Portland's biggest venue two more times after the '87 two-night stand, in 1992 and more recently in 2014. We are wicked pumped to see him again in Maine real soon. He'll be in Bangor at Darling's Waterfront Pavilion on July 28th!

Watch pro-shot video of Bryan killin' it live a few weeks before he came to Portland at a show in Florida. I figured since we are in the 'H' section of WBLM's A to Z , this one should be seen!
